Life with a 4-year-old is never dull! ;)
I was trying to photograph something on my black backdrop today... but my little goofball kept getting right in the middle of the action! I gave up on the photo shoot and played with him instead. He kept giggling and covering his face... and I didn't worry about settings or being technically correct... but it was fun anyway! He's good at reminding me to take the time to laugh and be silly!
Here are 3 of the "results" of our silliness... I really wish I'd changed the aperture & gotten the focus on more of his face, especially both eyes, in that last one... but just trying to hold the camera without it shaking while I was laughing was difficult enough. See, he was posing for that one! "Don't make me laugh. I want to be SERIOUS. Mom, stop laughing and take my picture." He's such a little character!
All were taken with Canon dRebel XT, Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens...
1 & 2: ss 320, f/1.4, ISO 800
3: ss 160, f/ 1.4, ISO 800

How fun...I too wish you had changed the settings - but at least you had a blast! Cute kid too!
One of the hardest things is to constantly check your settings. I think I really started a habit of it on my recent trip. They are great shots. Too bad about the focus. Keep at it...perfect photos are less important than the laughter you shared with your little guy.
His eyes just glisten in that third one.
These are cute! Like you, I'm still working on my focus when its a moving object! Your son is such a cutie!
Did you feel like you learned a lot
in Amber's class? (So far, I'm a little disappointed in how huge the class size is and how little critiquing we get from her...does it get better?)( We're on Week 4)
Such great pictures of Noah, Dorothy!
Dofey, these are just beautiful!! I would LOVE to have one of your photos someday... hint hint hint...
Cute! Looks like you had fun!
These are all great, but #1 brought a smile to my face. What a beautiful photo.
Sometimes you have to let the technical stuff go and just enjoy taking the photo! I think we're too hard on ourselves this way. These are priceless...I can feel the emotion from these and didn't even notice the technical stuff;) Really great job!
love that first one! he sure looks like an ornery little character! great takes!
cute kid. I like the composition of the last one the best, too bad it's OOF. But the catchlights in them all are really good.
Settings or not I think they came out cute!
Can I just say - I'm always amazed at how CLEAN your kids are.
Whenever I take photos of my nieces or nephew, there's all sorts of things on their face, clothes, and hair.
HA!! Steve, that cracked me up! I guess I just don't post enough pics after we're done at the park! Noah gets dirty... a LOT!
Technically you may be disappointed, but emotionally you must be thrilled. These are awesome pics and 10 years from now you won't give a flip about the camera settings, you will just remember the laughing and the sharing you did with your baby. And so will he...
OMG! Dorothy these are BEAUTIFUL photos!!!
